Join us for this 2019 Tribeca Film Festival Audience Favorite Gay Chorus Deep South. The film follows The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus who embark on a tour of the Deep South in response to a divisive 2016 wave of anti-LGBTQ laws in southern states. The tour brings a message of hope, music, love and acceptance to communities experiencing intolerance.

The Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir joins the tour and over 300 singers travel from Mississippi to Tennessee to the Carolinas. Led by conductor, Dr. Tim Seelig, the tour challenges many chorus members who fled the South to confront their own fears, pain and prejudices. The connections that occur along the way shine a light on the incredible power of music, humanity, compassion… and a little drag.
